Le Mot is the same idea as Wordle, but it's in French. Each day, a five-letter word is chosen at random. You have six chances to find it. Depending on how close you are to finding the word, the letters will change colour after each attempt.
How to play
The first word makes all the difference. Use one with as many letters that differ from the game's language as possible, whether it's English or French. Also, stay away from words with uncommon letters; they are extremely difficult. Based on an analysis of all French words used on Wikipedia in 2008, the most common letter in French words is E, followed by A, I, S, N, R and T, in that order. .
So in French, start with a five-letter word like Saine, Sante, Tiens, or Senat as your first word. Saine should always be your first word, as it has the five most frequently used letters in French.
Sometimes in Le Mot you will have to find a word with more than 5 letters. If you have six letters, try Sainte, Insert, or Sentir. Try Nature or Latines if you only have seven letters. Whether you play Wordle or Le Mot, these two little online games are fun to play once a day, enough to get your English and French brains working. I wish you fun!
