Explordle

The rules for Explordle are very easy to understand. After seeing a video of a random area, all you have to do is pick the right place from a list of four places. Once you think you know where the video is, you can use the interactive map to see if you were right.

Explordle is a little harder because the answers are given in Chinese (for non-Chinese speakers). This shouldn't be a problem if you use Chrome and have Google Translate turned on. In other browsers, you can get around any language problems by clicking on the map icon next to each multiple-choice answer (to see a map of the location).

If you really don't want to play in Chinese, try "City Guesser" instead. It's pretty much the same game, but in English.

Explordle City Guesser is a fun location-guessing game where you have to spot a certain place in a video. To start playing, just point to the spot on the interactive map. The game plays a video of a place in the world that seems to be chosen at random. To figure out where you think a movie was filmed, you have to look at things like the language and words used on street signs and the way streets look on the inside. Once you've made your guess, all you have to do is click on the interactive map to get points based on how well you guessed where the video was shot.

City Guesser and Explordle are both like GeoGuessr in that you have to recognize visual clues to figure out where you are. I like all three games because they give you a sense of place and make you think about the things that make the place unique.
